Academic Associates Network

The Academic Associate (AA) network of the Atlantic Council transmits information between the Council and students and faculty at colleges and universities across the United States. AAs pass along open invitations for students and faculty to participate in numerous opportunities. Individuals nominated by AAs generally receive preference in the competition for our programs, including the:

  • Young Atlanticist Summit held in connection with the official NATO Summit
  • Student conferences in Europe and North America, including those in Denmark, Hungary, Latvia, Portugal, and Slovenia
  • Faculty briefings, conferences, panels, and workshops in Brussels, Washington DC, and beyond
  • Internships at the Council office in Washington DC

Through the AA network, faculty also have access to

  • Council experts for briefings (either in Washington DC or, potentially, at your university)

  • Council reports for use as course materials

Professors interested in becoming an Academic Associate should contact the Young Atlanticist Program at 202-778-4954.

Please consult our list of current colleges and universities associated with the Council. In most cases, colleges and universities are limited to one AA per school.
